VUKARI Among the excellent releases that have graced early 2024 I'd have to say that this album has the most variation of sound. There is so much to dig through and enjoy. Nearly every subgenre of black metal meets here and melds together perfectly. This album is awesome. Favorite track: Howl of Gleaming Swords.

Leprous Great record to start the year off. The whole crew up in the northeast really know what they are doing. Keep it up! Favorite track: Night's Glacial Passing.

allencantation Might end up being my 2024 AOTY. Love the different styles, techniques, and the slow grooves and leads. Favorite track: Bone Ornament.

Rhûn was brought to life in the summer of 2021 by Aaron Charles. Known for being a founding member of Falls of Rauros, Rhûn is a vehicle for spontaneous expression outside the scope of his primary musical outlet. Conceived with immediacy, in the haze and sweat of the summer months, its purpose is to communicate impulsively with the corporeal self. "Conveyance in Death" was entirely self-produced and recorded in Portland, Maine with the help of longtime collaborator Ray Capizzo (founding member of Falls of Rauros) as a session drummer.

"Conveyance in Death" has largely lain dormant since autumn 2021, until being unearthed and dusted off in the year 2024. It is a tribute to solitude, self-determination, and ephemerality.
